Dr Gina Dixon

Former Associate Member, Inactive Baritone

Bio/Profile

Gina was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. There, she began singing barbershop at age 17 with her YWIH quartet- Curtain CALL. In 2008, Curtain CALL won first place at Harmony Explosion, the BHS Johnny Appleseed District contest, and the SAI YWIH Region 17 contest. After high school, Gina attended the University of Pittsburgh as a Music Major for Vocal Performance. There, she sang in a mixed gender, acapella choir, the Heinz Chapel Choir. She then attended medical school at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. In medical school, Gina was President and Music Director of the medical school acapella group, the Med Notes. In 2012, she started her Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency training at Tulane University School of Medicine. She is also very interested in the role of music therapy in medicine. Gina is incredibly excited to be a part of the Crescent City Sounds Chorus; she loves singing barbershop baritone! When she isn't working or singing, she likes to enjoy the food and music of New Orleans, walk her puppy in Audubon Park, and work on her latest Pinterest fail.
