Niki joined Crescent City Sound Chorus in the fall of 2015 at the urging of a friend (Rebecca Emel), whom is a tenor with the chorus.
Having zero barbershop or harmony experience, and being a self taught karaoke and shower singing enthusiast, she looked at barbershop as a unique and rewarding challenge.
"I had no idea it would be so much work...or so much fun! The bug definitely bit me after my first visit. I was a sponge and only wanted to learn more. Not to mention, I'd never been exposed to such a strong, support system of women!"
In her spare time Niki likes to play piano, bike, camp, play strategy board games and trivia, go to music festivals, and dress up in costumes and wigs!
She's an active participant in many local organizations and social clubs including, NOLA Social Ride biking club, Yelp, New Orleans Hash House Harriers (and the Red Dress Run event), and The BBC (Bike & Brunch Club), She also runs a sub-krewe, Avatarlicious, in The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus, which parades every Mardi Gras season.
She and her fiance Phil live in New Orleans with their black lab puppy, Harpo. They've got three granddaughters and a two grandsons.
