Niki joined Crescent City Sound Chorus in the fall of 2015, encouraged by her friend and tenor in the chorus, Rebecca Emel.

With no prior experience in barbershop or harmony singing, and only a background as a self-taught karaoke and shower singing enthusiast, Niki saw barbershop as an exciting and rewarding challenge.

"I had no idea it would be so much fun...or so much work! The bug definitely bit me after my first visit. I was a sponge and only wanted to learn more. Not to mention, I'd never been exposed to such a strong, supportive system of women!"

In her spare time, Niki enjoys playing piano and ukulele, biking, camping, playing card and board games and trivia, attending music festivals, parading, and dressing up in costumes and wigs.

She's actively involved in various local organizations and social clubs, including New Orleans Hash House Harriers (and the Red Dress Run event), and The BBC (Bike & Brunch Club). She also leads a sub-krewe, Avatarlicious, in The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus, which parades every Mardi Gras season.

Niki and her husband, Phil, live in New Orleans with their black lab, Harpo and their new puppy, Dude. They have three granddaughters and three grandsons.
