Crescent City Sound Chorus Leadership

Crescent City Sound Chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

 


Jo Ann Fernon - Director

Jo Ann Fernon, director of Crescent City Sound Chorus joined Sweet Adelines International in 1969. She founded the Greater Orleans Chorus, directed three choruses in New Orleans and one in Houma, won Small Chorus Award three times, was elected Sweet Adeline of the Year twice, was chosen to the Wall of Fame twice in Region 10 and served on Region 10 Board of Directors and Music Staff.

 

Jo Ann's passion for singing barbershop harmony is contagious to all. She conducts rehearsals with enthusiasm, experience and humor, but is very serious about education and correct vocal production. On Monday nights, the Band Room at Delgado Community College is alive with music. Women of all ages and professions and backgrounds find they are sisters and best friends, and Jo Ann is the heart of this family.
